El Alamein, August 9, 2025 (LANA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati stressed the importance of holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya as soon as possible.

This came during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Saturday in El Alamein, according to Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamim Khallaf.

Abdel Aati stressed the need to dismantle militias and withdraw all foreign forces, foreign fighters, and mercenaries, as this is the only guarantee for achieving security and stability in Libya.
