Tripoli, August 9, 2025 (LANA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity welcomed the announcement of a peace agreement between the Republics of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry expressed its hope that this agreement would mark the beginning of a new phase of cooperation and understanding, consolidating security and stability between Armenia and Azerbaijan, serving the interests of their peoples and contributing to the promotion of security and peace in the South Caucasus region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the efforts of the US administration in achieving this historic agreement, expressing its appreciation for this important role and its contribution to enhancing security and stability in the region and the world, reinforcing the importance of resolving conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a US-brokered peace agreement on Friday during a meeting at the White House with US President Donald Trump, who described the agreement as historic.
