Benghazi, August 9, 2025 (LANA) – The spokesman for the Libyan House of Representatives, Abdullah Blihaq, denied the authenticity of a document circulating on social media claiming that the House had invited several entities, including the High Council of State, to attend the voting session to select a new prime minister on August 25.

Blihaq confirmed in a statement issued Friday evening that the document was "forged," calling on followers not to be drawn into false news.

The document attributed to the House indicated that six entities had been invited to the session, including the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), the League of Arab States, and the African Union Commission, in addition to listing seven candidates for the position of prime minister.
