Tripoli, August 6, 2025 (LANA) - Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, discussed on Wednesday with the President of the Libyan Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, a number of common topics, most notably the country's general financial situation.

During the meeting, the review and approval of the Central Bank's budgets by the technical committees assigned by the Audit Bureau were discussed. The meeting emphasized the need to provide all necessary facilities for the work of these committees and to accelerate the review process to complete their review and approve the final accounts for the years 2017 to 2024.

The two sides also discussed the issue of oversight of the banking sector and the work mechanism of the audit firms assigned by the general assemblies to review and approve the financial statements of commercial banks. They emphasized the need to select experienced and professional firms to approve the financial statements.
