Al-Baour meets with the Turkish Ambassador.

Tripoli, 6 August 2025 This morning, at the Ministry's headquarters in Tripoli, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Taher Al-Baour received the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Güven Begeç.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen joint cooperation in various areas, particularly in the political, economic, and security areas, in a way that serves mutual interests and reflects the deep historical ties between the Libyan and Turkish peoples.

Al-Baour stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation between the two countries on issues of common interest, commending Turkey's prominent role in supporting stability in Libya and its effective contribution to reconstruction and development efforts.

For his part, Begeç expressed his country's commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support Libya in its political and development paths, emphasizing the Turkish government's readiness to provide all necessary support to serve the Libyan people's aspirations for security and prosperity.

At the conclusion of the meeting, which was attended by the Ministry's Director of the Department of Asian and Australian Affairs, Hassan bin Rabha, the two sides emphasized the importance of continuing constructive dialogue and strengthening the strategic partnership between Libya and Turkey, ensuring the fulfillment of both countries' aspirations for a more stable and cooperative future.
