Tripoli, 6 August 2025 (Lana) UNSMIL reiterated its call on all Libyan citizens to actively participate in forming their political future, emphasizing the importance of every individual's contribution to supporting the ongoing political process in the country.
This came in an open Zoom call organized by the mission last Friday with 239 Libyans, where Tetteh said that “Everyone has a role to play in the success of any political process.”
“The situation has gone on for some time, and it’s going to take a collective effort to change it,” “Democracy and inclusiveness—they're not events. They are processes. They are built over time," she said.
Tetteh called on Libyans to participate in the online poll, and once the roadmap is announced, work with the mission to hold their leaders accountable in its implementation.
Tetteh emphasized that the mission seeks to enhance transparency and partnership with citizens by enabling them to express their opinions and suggestions regarding the country's future.
