Arrest of 350 illegal migrants in Tobruk.

Tobruk, 5 August 2025 (Lana) The Anti-Illegal Migration Agency—Tobruk branch announced the arrest of 350 illegal migrants of various nationalities during a large-scale security operation carried out within the Tobruk municipality.

The agency announced through its media office that the security operation was part of a series of intensive patrols aimed at pursuing violators of entry requirements and raiding illegal migrant hideouts in the city and its suburbs.

The agency noted that the legal status of those arrested varied; some entered Libyan territory without completing official procedures, while others infiltrated via desert routes, and a number were preparing to migrate illegally by sea to the European coast.

The agency affirmed its continued security efforts to pursue smuggling networks and crack down on illegal migration activities in coordination with the relevant security authorities, emphasizing the importance of activating regional and international cooperation to curb this phenomenon.
