Al-Lafi discusses political developments in Libya with the Qatari ambassador

Tripoli, August 3, 2025 (LANA) – Presidential Council Member Abdullah Al-Lafi discussed the latest political developments with the Qatari Ambassador to Libya, Khaled Al-Dosari, on Sunday in Tripoli. This was in light of the Berlin meeting, subsequent international and regional meetings, and the outcomes of the advisory committee emanating from the political track.

During the meeting, according to the Presidential Council's media office, Al-Lafi praised the constructive role played by the State of Qatar in supporting stability in Libya, appreciating its contribution to addressing the political impasse and its commitment to pushing for a genuine national consensus that ensures the revival of the political process on realistic and sustainable foundations.

For his part, the Qatari Ambassador expressed his country's full support for the Presidential Council's efforts in the national reconciliation file, stressing Qatar's readiness to contribute effectively to creating the appropriate climate for achieving tangible progress in this file, which is the cornerstone of building a stable and unified state.

The meeting also addressed bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries and ways to develop it to serve their common interests. The meeting also commended the current security calm in the capital, Tripoli, and emphasized the need to maintain and consolidate the ceasefire as a fundamental guarantee for the transition to permanent stability.
