Tripoli, July 31, 2025 (LANA) – President of  High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met today, Thursday, with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, who congratulated the President on gaining the confidence of the Council members and his election, along with the members of the Presidency Office.

The Council stated, via its official page, that the meeting addressed developments in the political situation in Libya and the efforts made by the European Union to end the state of division, consolidate consensus, and advance the political process towards the implementation of free and fair elections that reflect the aspirations of the Libyan people and contribute to strengthening the path to peace and stability.

The Council quoted Orlando as affirming during the meeting the European Union's support for the pivotal role played by the High Council of State in achieving political and legislative balance, which serves the interests of the nation and its citizens and contributes to restoring Libya's regional and international standing.
