Tripoli, July 30, 2025 (LANA) - The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity directed all security directorates in coastal areas to raise their level of preparedness and implement a set of field and organizational measures. This will be done in coordination with the National Safety Authority and its maritime rescue units, along with the ambulance and emergency services, municipalities, and supervisors of resorts and tourist villages to protect citizens during the summer season.

The Ministry of Interior's instructions to the security directorates included prohibiting swimming on unsafe beaches, placing clear warning signs to alert vacationers and identify prohibited areas, and requiring public and private resorts to provide qualified marine rescue teams and equip them with all necessary equipment, including warning flags and floating markers to clearly identify safe swimming areas.

The instructions included deploying foot and mounted security patrols along the beaches to detect violations and enhance security presence. They also included regulating the use of jet skis and prohibiting their entry into swimming areas. They emphasized the need to wear life jackets and designate clear and safe passages for entry and exit.

The Ministry called on security directorates to coordinate efforts with relevant authorities to place safety and guidance signs, such as floating balls and warning flags, as well as designating specific and safe swimming paths.

The Ministry of Interior emphasized the need for continuous coordination between relevant authorities and the issuance of joint security plans to secure beaches and ensure the safety of citizens and vacationers. This enhances the effectiveness of emergency response and contributes to providing a safe tourism environment.

The Ministry also called on all citizens and beachgoers to cooperate and adhere to preventive instructions and guidelines to preserve lives and the safety of all. The Ministry affirmed the continuation of its daily field efforts within the joint security plan to ensure a safe and accident-free summer.
