Tripoli, 29 July 2025 (Lana) GNU Minister of Local Government and Minister of Sport Abdul Shafi Al Juwaifi met with the EU Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation on sports, promoting exchanges between Libyan and European youth and athletes.

“The EU remains a committed partner in strengthening service delivery at the central and local levels across Libya, through close cooperation with the Ministry of Local Government and international and local partners,” Orlando said in a tweet.

He stated that this support is embodied through successful programs like Baladiyati, Support to Municipalities, and Moussanada, which aim to strengthen local capacities and improve the quality of public services provided to citizens across Libya.

“We agreed to deepen the technical dialogue between our teams and continue our direct communication in the coming months,” he added.
