Libyan Investment Company receives the external auditor's report on the financial statements of the long-term investment portfolio

Tripoli, July 28, 2025 (LANA) - The Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) held a ceremony today to receive the external auditor's report on the financial statements of the long-term investment portfolio.

The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the LIA's Board of Trustees, members of the LIA's Board of Directors, members of the portfolio's Board of Directors, representatives of its subsidiaries, and representatives of EY International.

In his speech during the ceremony, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Chairman of the LIA's Board of Trustees, emphasized the importance of this achievement in enhancing transparency and adherence to international standards. He also referred to the recent international commendation of the UN Security Council for enhancing governance, transparency, and compliance with the Santiago Principles for the LIA Group.

For his part, Ali Mahmoud Hassan, Chairman and CEO of the LIA, said that the audited statements by EY represent a pivotal step towards supporting partnerships and attracting investments, and reflect the LIA's commitment to governance and accountability.

In turn, Abdulfattah Ghaffar, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Long-Term Investment Portfolio, noted that preparing the financial statements in accordance with international standards for the first time is a significant achievement, achieved despite the challenges. Work continues to complete the audit of the financial statements by the end of 2024.

The ceremony included a presentation by EY on the audited financial statements, followed by a technical discussion with the team on audit and compliance methodologies.

This achievement is the result of an integrated strategic vision aimed at enhancing transparency and governance and consolidating the institution's position among the world's leading sovereign wealth funds.
