Signing of the Country Program Framework (CPF) document between the Atomic Energy Corporation of Libya and the International Atomic Energy Agency

Tripoli, July 28, 2025 (LANA) – The Tajoura Nuclear Research Center hosted this morning the signing ceremony of the Country Program Framework (CPF) document for the period 2025-2030, as part of the technical cooperation agreement between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Libyan state.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Atomic Energy Corporation of Libya signed the document in the presence of several representatives of relevant parties who participated in its preparation.

The Corporation stated on its official Facebook page that the document signed today was in two copies, previously signed by the IAEA and sent to the Corporation for signature. It serves as a reference for the priorities of the national cooperation strategy and national needs to contribute to sustainable development in the peaceful applications of atomic energy.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Libyan Ambassador to Austria and Head of the Permanent Mission of Libya to the IAEA, Osama Abdul Jalil, and members of the Board of Directors.

The ceremony was also attended by a number of participants in the preparation and review of the document from the sectors of health, agriculture, water, animal health, biotechnology, food control, and the Agricultural Research Center. Sulafa Karrar, the official responsible for the Libyan cooperation file at the International Atomic Energy Agency, also participated remotely, speaking in which she thanked the efforts made to prepare this document.
