Al-Qubbah, July 27, 2025 (LANA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, stressed that Libya's unity and sovereignty are non-negotiable, and that national reconciliation represents the fundamental pillar for the return of security and stability in Libya.

This came during his reception yesterday, Saturday, of a delegation of notables, sheikhs, and elders from the western region in the city of Al-Qubbah, in the presence of several members of the House of Representatives.

In his speech during the meeting, he said, "Libyans are brothers, and if they were given the freedom to reach an understanding, free from foreign interference, Libya's problem would have ended in two days. We reject exclusion and marginalization, and we believe that the people alone can decide through the ballot box."

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, stressed the need to form a new, neutral government to oversee the elections, safeguard public funds, and work to create the necessary democratic climate to ensure the participation of all without exception.

He added, "The Libyan crisis can only be resolved by returning the trust to its rightful owners, through free and fair elections. Everyone must abide by the will of the people, not by the logic of force or foreign interference."

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, praised the visit of the Western Region delegation, considering it a national message affirming the unity of Libyan ranks in the east, west, and south. He called for intensified efforts to ensure the success of the national reconciliation process and the building of a unified state based on justice and equality.

For their part, the Western Region delegation emphasized that their visit to the eastern region carries a national message, emphasizing that Libya is one indivisible homeland and that everyone is a partner in building its future, according to the Speaker of the House of Representatives' media center.
