Khoury visits Tarhuna Municipality

Tarhuna, July 23, 2025 (LANA) – The UN Special Representative for Political Affairs in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, visited Tarhuna Municipality on Wednesday, where she held several meetings, including a meeting with the Mayor, Mohammed Al-Kasher, and Member of Parliament, Sabah Jumaa.
According to a post published by the Tarhuna Municipality on its official page, this visit comes within the framework of monitoring the latest political and social developments in the country and listening to the opinions and suggestions of the people of Tarhuna regarding the current phase, with the aim of strengthening national consensus and achieving reconciliation among Libyans.
The municipality office also held a number of important meetings with the city's sheikhs, notables, and local mukhtars, where citizens' priorities and aspirations were discussed. A special meeting was also held with a number of the city's women to hear their opinions and suggestions, in appreciation of the active role of women in society.
A meeting was also held with a group of young people from the city of Tarhuna, considering them a pivotal segment of society. Their opinions and recommendations were heard on ways to support stability and achieve development in the community.
