Tripoli, July 23, 2025 (LANA) – President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, met on Wednesday evening at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli with US Presidential Advisor for Africa and the Middle East, Massad Boulos, and his accompanying delegation.
The Presidential Council's media office stated that the meeting constituted a pivotal platform for exchanging views on a number of issues with regional and international dimensions. It indicated that the meeting addressed the future of bilateral relations and ways to enhance strategic cooperation between Tripoli and Washington, particularly in the areas of qualitative investment, sustainable development, and technology localization. It also called on US companies to seriously engage in reconstruction projects and knowledge transfer, ensuring fair and comprehensive development throughout the country.
The office quoted Al-Menfi as emphasizing that any true partnership must be based on transparency and mutual respect for national sovereignty. It noted that the Presidential Council is working to establish a strict oversight system to control public spending, achieve fair distribution, and enhance integrity in resource management, particularly in the oil and alternative energy sectors.
According to the media office, Paul reiterated the United States' commitment to supporting stability efforts in Libya, explaining that the US administration, headed by President Donald Trump, views Libya as a "pivotal partner" in regional security, and that Washington is keen to expand the horizons of joint cooperation and develop channels for political and economic coordination with the Libyan state.
