Tripoli, July 21, 2025 (LANA) – The Head of the European Union Delegation to Libya, Ambassador Nicola Orlando, stressed the importance of protecting the integrity and independence of oversight institutions, especially the Audit Bureau, as essential to addressing corruption and misuse of public funds, and building a transparent, citizen-centered administration.

This came in a tweet posted by Orlando on his X, platform account, following his meeting today, Monday, in Tripoli with the President of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak.

Orlando said, "During the meeting, we reviewed the ongoing support provided by the European Union and explored new ways to further enhance the Bureau's effectiveness."
