Dbaiba meets with the University of Bani Walid Council.

Tripoli, July 21, 2025 (LANA) – The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, met today, Monday, at the Prime Minister's Office, with the President and members of the University of Bani Walid Council. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Omran Al-Qeeb, and the head of the Executive Team for Prime Ministerial Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Manea.

The university delegation included the President of the University and a number of academic leaders, including the Undersecretary for Academic Affairs, the deans of the Faculties of Agriculture, Engineering, Science, Education, Medical Technology, Information Technology, Economics and Political Science, and Sharia Sciences, as well as the directors of technical and administrative departments and offices specializing in faculty affairs and university infrastructure.

The Government Media Office stated that the Prime Minister commended the efforts made to upgrade the University of Bani Walid, commending the remarkable development it has witnessed since 2021, after it had been in a deplorable state. He noted that 18 new academic halls and amphitheater have been constructed, contributing to an improved educational and service environment for students. He noted that the city is rich in distinguished scientific and academic talent, emphasizing that these talents are one of the most prominent components of the university's advancement and strengthening its role in local development.

According to the office, members of the University Council expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister's support and called for the completion of ongoing projects to ensure the continued qualitative shift in the university's performance and the fulfillment of the aspirations of students and faculty. The office indicated that Dbaiba affirmed his continued support for educational institutions in various cities within the framework of the "Return to Life" plan, considering education as one of the pillars of stability and development in Libya.
