UN mission: Tetteh held a fruitful discussion with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Egyptian Embassy in Libya.

Tripoli, July 16, 2025 (LANA) – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said that the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, held a fruitful discussion yesterday with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Egyptian Embassy to Libya, Tamer El-Hefny.

The mission explained in a post on its Twitter account that this comes within the framework of the consultations being conducted by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, with various Libyan, regional, and international parties regarding the political roadmap.

The mission added that the two sides agreed on the importance of a Libyan-led and Libyan-owned political process facilitated by the United Nations with coordinated international support.

The two sides also discussed the situation in Tripoli and emphasized the vital need to maintain calm, engage in dialogue, and avoid any acts of violence that could endanger the lives of civilians and personal and public property and destabilize the entire country, according to the mission.
