The Audit Bureau and the United Nations Development Programme discuss cooperation in institutional development and combating corruption.

Tripoli, July 16, 2025 (LANA) – The President of the Libyan Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, discussed on Wednesday with a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), headed by the UNDP Resident Representative in Libya, Sophie Kimkhedze, ways to cooperate in institutional development and combating corruption.
According to the Audit Bureau, the meeting addressed the possibility of the Bureau benefiting from the program's expertise in a number of issues related to institutional development, in addition to cooperation in the areas of combating corruption, enhancing transparency, and consolidating the principles of accountability.
The two sides also discussed the outcomes of the 16th General Assembly and 59th Executive Council meeting of the AFROSAI, hosted by Tripoli in December of last year, and the recommendations it included regarding enhancing regional and international cooperation and developing the capacities of supreme audit and accounting institutions.
According to the Bureau, this meeting is part of the Audit Bureau's efforts to open up to international organizations and expand technical cooperation frameworks, which will contribute to developing institutional performance and advancing financial and administrative governance.
