Al-Mnifi meets with the Greek Foreign Minister.

Tripoli, July 15, 2025 (LANA) – The President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Mnifi, met today, Tuesday, at the Council's headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Giorgos Gerapetritis, in the presence of the Greek Ambassador to Libya, Nikolaos Garilidis.

The Media Office of the Presidential Council stated that this meeting affirmed the depth of historical ties and the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, serving the supreme national interests of both parties and enhancing stability in the Mediterranean region.

The office explained that the meeting discussed paths of political and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries, the possibility of activating joint cooperation mechanisms by reviving bilateral technical and economic committees, and paving the way for the return of Greek companies to invest and contribute to reconstruction and development efforts in Libya. The meeting also addressed efforts to reopen air links between the two countries and develop security cooperation on the issue of illegal immigration.

The presidential media office did not mention whether Al-Mnifi and Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis discussed the Libyan-Greek dispute over the recent Greek moves in the eastern Mediterranean, which were rejected by the Libyan authorities.
