Al-Abed signs an agreement with the British Council to improve English language teaching, under the supervision of Dabaiba.

Tripoli, July 14, 2025 (LANA) - The Minister of Education in the Government of National Unity, Ali Al-Abed, signed an agreement with the British Council on Monday to implement an initiative to improve English language teaching in educational institutions. The agreement was signed under the supervision of Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, and in the presence of Hamish Faulkner, British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, and the British Ambassador to Libya.

The initiative aims to improve the level of English language teaching in Libyan schools and universities by reviewing and developing curricula for primary and secondary education, and updating academic programs and courses in English language faculties at universities, in line with the needs of students and the labor market.

The Prime Minister's initiative also aims to raise the efficiency of teachers in this field by implementing specialized training and qualification programs based on the latest educational methods and under the supervision of accredited experts, according to the Prime Minister's media office.

The implementation plan includes conducting a comprehensive assessment of educational needs, developing modern training programs, and conducting continuous monitoring and evaluation to ensure the achievement of objectives and creating an educational environment capable of developing students' skills and raising the level of academic achievement in the English language.
