Tripoli, July 14, 2025 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, discussed bilateral relations between Libya and the United Kingdom on Monday with the UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Hamish Faulkner, ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting discussed supporting the political process and contributing to stability efforts, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
Al-Baour stressed the importance of the partnership with the United Kingdom, particularly in the areas of development and capacity building, praising the United Kingdom's role in the Security Council regarding stopping the war on Gaza and the need to lift the siege and allow the entry of humanitarian and food aid to those besieged in the Strip.
Faulkner reiterated his country's commitment to supporting Libya to achieve stability and progress, noting the British government's keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation on the basis of mutual respect and common interests.
The Ministry indicated that this meeting comes within the framework of ongoing communication between the Government of National Unity and its international partners, and joint coordination to support peace and stability efforts in the region.
