Orlando assures Al-Zidani of the EU's continued support for development efforts in Libya.

Tripoli, 14 July 2025 (Lana) GNU Minister of Planning Mohamed Al Zidani discussed with EU Ambassador to Libya Nicola Orlando ways to enhance joint cooperation between Libya and the EU, particularly in priority development areas.

The meeting, which was held in Tripoli, reviewed the progress made in implementing EU-funded development projects, in addition to discussing progress rates and challenges facing implementation phases.

The Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the existing partnership with the EU to contribute to supporting national development plans, noting the vital role played by international cooperation programs in building capacity and advancing sustainable development.

For his part, Ambassador Orlando expressed the EU's commitment to continuing to support development efforts in Libya, stressing the need for close coordination with the Ministry of Planning to ensure the effectiveness of implemented programs and projects.

This meeting comes within the framework of ongoing cooperation between Libya and the EU to support the efforts of the GNU in achieving economic and social development and enhancing stability.
