Saudi delegation in Tripoli to discuss investment opportunities and joint agricultural cooperation.

Tripoli, July 12, 2025 (LANA) - The Undersecretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Mohammed Al-Turki, discussed agricultural investment opportunities between the two countries with a Saudi delegation headed by the Director General of the Saudi-Mauritanian-Egyptian Group of Agricultural Investments, Abu Nayef Saleh bin Ayed Al-Qarni.
The meeting discussed enhancing joint agricultural investment opportunities, which would contribute to supporting the Libyan state's efforts to achieve food security and develop the agricultural sector according to scientific and strategic principles.
The two sides reviewed several visions and proposals related to the implementation of strategic agricultural projects with a developmental nature, based on investing in Libya's abundant natural resources and opening new horizons for public-private partnerships in the fields of modern agriculture, plant and animal production, and advanced agricultural technologies.
Al-Turki welcomed all serious initiatives and partnerships with Saudi Arabia aimed at developing the agricultural sector and enhancing its role in the national economy, noting that Libya possesses a fertile environment for agricultural investment and a strategic location that qualifies it to become a regional center for sustainable agricultural production.
For its part, the Saudi delegation expressed its great interest in the investment opportunities available in the Libyan market, affirming the group's readiness to enter into genuine partnerships with relevant authorities in Libya and to develop a clear roadmap for launching projects with tangible economic and development impact.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings to monitor developments in cooperation and joint coordination. They also agreed to form joint technical working groups to monitor the preparation of investment studies and proposals, in preparation for the launch of a number of joint agricultural projects in the coming stages.
