Al-Mnifi holds a meeting with the Truce and Security and Military Arrangements Committees in Tripoli.

Tripoli, July 10, 2025 (LANA) - The President of the Presidential Council and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohamed Al-Mnifi, held a meeting today, Thursday, with the Truce and Security and Military Arrangements Committees in the capital, Tripoli.

During the meeting, Al-Mnifi listened to a comprehensive briefing from the two committees on the latest developments in and around Tripoli, as well as in the western region in general. Field reports were also presented on the current operational situation and security challenges.

According to the media office of the President of the Council, it was agreed during the meeting to appoint a commander for the Tripoli Security Directorate Support Force, which was formed by a decision of the President of the Presidential Council, given its strategic importance in supporting the stability of the capital and securing state institutions.

The Supreme Commander emphasized the importance of strict adherence to military instructions and communiqués issued by him, particularly with regard to military movements, which must be conducted exclusively by direct and prior order from the Supreme Commander, to ensure discipline and unified military decision-making, according to the media office.

The meeting emphasized the importance of submitting periodic and regular reports on any security breaches or field violations committed by certain parties, with the necessity of including in these reports the responsive and disciplinary measures taken in response to these violations, to ensure deterrence and strengthen the rule of law.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Supreme Commander reiterated that reforming the defense and security sectors, restructuring them, and reorganizing them according to professional standards are priorities for the next phase, paving the way for building a unified and effective military institution capable of preserving the state's sovereignty and stability.
