Audit Bureau chairs the 62nd session of the AFROSAI Executive Council in Rabat.

Tripoli, 10 July 2025 (Lana) The Audit Bureau, as president of AFROSAI, chaired the 62nd session of the Executive Council of the African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI), which was held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, with the participation of 13 member audit institutions.

The session opened with a remark by the Head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, in which he emphasized the importance of strengthening joint cooperation between African audit institutions and exchanging knowledge and expertise, particularly in the areas of integrating modern technology and big data into audit processes, which will contribute to improving institutional performance and achieving greater effectiveness in the management of public resources.

The session included adopting the agenda, reviewing the reports of the organization's statutory bodies, and discussing the reports of the organizational, institutional, and technical capacity-building committees, in which the Libyan Audit Bureau actively participates.

The report of the editorial board of the African Journal of Comprehensive Auditing was also presented.

The session is scheduled to continue today to complete the discussion of the items on the agenda, amid aspirations to enhance the organization's role in supporting governance and transparency across the African continent.
