Cairo, July 9, 2025 (LANA) - Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, reiterated the League's readiness to support Libyans in finding appropriate solutions within the framework of Libyan ownership and leadership of the political process.
This came during his meeting in Cairo on Wednesday with the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour.
The Secretary-General's official spokesperson, Jamal Rushdi, said that the meeting discussed the situation in Libya and regional and international efforts to advance the political process.
He explained that the Secretary-General listened to Al-Baour's presentation of the Libyan government's vision of the country's developments, and that the government affirmed its commitment and interest in the Arab League playing an active and effective role in contributing to Libyan unity and placing Libya on the path to unity and stability.
