Al-Sayeh discusses with the Canadian ambassador the latest developments in the electoral process in Libya.

Tripoli, July 9, 2025 (LANA) - Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, reviewed the latest developments in the electoral process in Libya on Wednesday with the Canadian Ambassador to Libya, Isabelle Savard, and her accompanying delegation.

According to the HNEC, the meeting addressed the latest developments in the electoral process in Libya, particularly the 2025 municipal council elections (Group II). Al-Sayeh reviewed the level of technical and logistical readiness the HNEC has reached to implement these elections in accordance with approved professional standards and on schedule.

Ambassador Savard expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the HNEC to implement the electoral process, praising the level of organization and professionalism that characterized the stages of the ongoing electoral process. She also emphasized the Canadian government's continued support for the electoral process in Libya and the importance of partnering with the HNEC in supporting the democratic process, according to the HNEC.
