Tripoli, July 9, 2025 (LANA) – The Director of the General Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taher Hussein, met today, Wednesday, with the Canadian Ambassador to Libya, Isabelle Savard, on the occasion of the end of her tenure in the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity stated that the Director of General Protocol praised Ambassador Savard's efforts in strengthening bilateral relations between Libya and Canada, appreciating her contributions to advancing joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The Canadian Ambassador expressed her sincere thanks and gratitude to the Government of National Unity for the support and cooperation she received during her tenure, affirming her country's commitment to continuing to support Libya on the path to stability and development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Taher Hussein stressed the importance of continuing and developing Libyan-Canadian relations to enhance the common interests of the two friendly countries.
