Tripoli, July 7, 2025 (LANA) – The Libyan Association of Judicial Bodies Members confirmed that the video clips published by the Attorney General's Office regarding the death of citizen Abdel Moneim Al-Mariami have put an end to all doubts and interpretations surrounding the incident.
The association explained in a statement that after viewing the video clips, it became clear, without ambiguity, that citizen Abdel Moneim Al-Mariami threw himself from the stairs until he fell to the ground. He was taken to the hospital and later died.
The statement added that the video footage showed that Al-Mariami threw himself from the second-floor stairs without any intervention or criminal act by the security personnel accompanying him.
The association emphasized that freedom of opinion and expression are constitutional rights, regulated by all legislation. No citizen may be deprived of the right to express their opinion, identify shortcomings, and offer constructive criticism to reform any existing system in the country.
The association called on everyone to ensure accuracy and truthfulness in reporting news and to avoid rumors, false accusations, and attempts to evade responsibility.
