Dabaiba inaugurates the first phase of the Third Ring Road project in Tripoli.

Tripoli, July 7, 2025 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, inaugurated the first phase of the Third Ring Road project in the capital, Tripoli, on Monday evening. The project was attended by a number of ministers, government officials, and representatives of the Egyptian consortium implementing the road.

Dabaiba said in a speech during the road opening ceremony that this project is one of the most important strategic infrastructure projects to relieve pressure on central Tripoli and reduce congestion.

He added that this project, which connects western and western Tripoli, will relieve pressure, reduce congestion within the capital, improve safety, and reduce travel times.

He continued that the first phase of the project, which begins from Ghout al-Shaal Island and extends to the airport road, is a 6-kilometer dual carriageway, with each road having three lanes, in addition to an additional 12 kilometers of service roads. It includes four vehicle bridges, three pedestrian bridges, integrated lighting, and a rainwater drainage network. He noted that the road is fully covered by cameras.

The Third Ring Road is a strategic project in Tripoli, extending 24 kilometers at an estimated cost of 4.263 billion dinars. It includes a dual carriageway with three lanes in each direction, an emergency lane on both sides, and two-lane service roads.
