Orlando meets with representatives of Libyan parties in Tripoli.

Tripoli, 7 July 2025 (Lana): EU Special Envoy to Libya, Nicola Orlando, emphasized the EU’s commitment to supporting the UNSMIL’s efforts during his meeting yesterday in Tripoli with representatives of parties in the National Gathering of Libyan Parties.

Orlando said in a tweet that he held constructive discussions with the representatives, in coordination with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya, Hanna Tetteh, regarding the importance of active participation in the UNSMIL consultations on the Advisory Committee's roadmap.

Orlando noted the EU's commitment to supporting the political process in Libya, which contributes to strengthening national unity and achieving stability and shared prosperity for the Libyan people.

This meeting came within the framework of international efforts aimed at creating an inclusive political environment that paves the way for a comprehensive and sustainable settlement of the Libyan crisis, with the support of regional and international partners.
