Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity: Rescue of (39) illegal immigrants off the coast of Tripoli

Tripoli, July 5, 2025 (LANA) - The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity announced the rescue of (39) illegal immigrants of various nationalities who were at sea off the eastern coast of Tripoli.

The Ministry explained in a statement today, Saturday, that the rescue operation was carried out by the "Wadi Ghan P301" boat, under the direct supervision of the Director of the General Administration of Coast Guard, Major General Al-Bashir Balnour Suleiman. It noted that the immigrants were transported to the Al-Shaab Port point, affiliated with the administration's branch in Tripoli.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the necessary legal measures were taken against the immigrants, and they were handed over to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency, according to the relevant jurisdiction.

The statement also indicated that the Minister of Interior, Major General Imad Mustafa Al-Tarabulsi, had issued instructions to intensify naval patrols during the summer to ensure the protection of maritime borders and to provide support to immigrants in emergency situations.
