Tripoli, June 4, 2025 (LANA) – The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Khoury, will visit the city of Bani Walid tomorrow, Saturday, during which she will hold several meetings with the municipal council, notables, and local leaders.
Local sources told the Libyan News Agency that Stephanie and her accompanying delegation's visit to Bani Walid aims to promote direct dialogue between the United Nations and the local community and listen to the demands of the people of Bani Walid to support development and stability plans in the region.
According to the sources, Khoury is scheduled to hold a series of intensive meetings during this visit with members of the municipal councils of Bani Walid, Taninay, and Mardum, as well as local officials; representatives of women's groups to discuss ways to empower women; youth and activists to present their vision for the region's future; and members of the Social Council to discuss community issues.
Khoury will also conduct a field trip, including a visit to the University of Bani Walid, where she will deliver a speech on the role of education in sustainable development.
