Tripoli, July 4, 2025 (LANA) – The Tripoli Security Directorate, in cooperation with security agencies, has begun implementing a comprehensive security plan to secure voter card distribution centers accredited by the High National Elections Commission (HNEC). This comes as part of the second phase of the electoral process taking place in a number of municipalities.

The Directorate explained, in a post on its official Facebook page on Thursday evening, that this plan comes in implementation of the instructions of the Minister of Interior, and based on the general security plan for 2025. It aims to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process, enhance security stability, and prevent any attempts to obstruct or disrupt the process.

The campaigning phase for candidates began last Saturday, coinciding with the distribution of voter cards in 62 accredited electoral districts, through 1,075 polling centers distributed across various areas of the targeted municipalities within the second group.

The Tripoli Security Directorate affirmed its continued implementation of the necessary security measures, in coordination with various units affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, to ensure the success of the electoral process in an atmosphere of security and order.
