Tripoli, July 2, 2025 (LANA) - The Chairman of the Presidential Council and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohamed Al-Mnifi, held an expanded meeting today, Wednesday, devoted to monitoring the security situation in the western region in general, and in the capital, Tripoli, in particular. The meeting was attended by the Truce Follow-up Committee.
The Presidential Council's media office reported that "During the meeting, which was attended by the Chief of General Staff, the Chiefs of Staff of the Specialized Forces, and the commanders of the Tripoli, West Coast, and Central Military Regions, Al-Mnifi discussed the extent of the concerned parties' commitment to the terms of the ceasefire and the necessity of their immediate return to their original headquarters, in accordance with the provisions of the existing security understandings." According to the same source, Al-Mnifi stressed the importance of continuing to work to implement the truce phases with precision and transparency, calling for expediting the resolution of the challenges facing the committee, ensuring the preservation of calm and enhancing the atmosphere of reassurance in the capital, which is a unifying home for all Libyans.
