Tripoli, 30 June 2025 (Lana): Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs Stephanie Koury met on Sunday with key industry leaders, syndicates, and trade unions as part of ongoing public outreach and consultations on the outcomes of the Advisory Committee within the broader UNSMIL-facilitated political process.

The mission said that the discussions focused on economic reform and recovery, labor rights, and strengthening the private sector, where the representatives stressed the need for equitable distribution of economic resources, economic diversification, and nationwide development, sharing specific proposals in these areas, as well as many emphasizing the importance of unifying institutions and combatting corruption as national priorities.

According to the mission, the participants exchanged views on the most viable path forward for the political roadmap based on the options proposed by the Advisory Committee.

Koury encouraged all union members to complete the online survey to help ensure their voices are heard in shaping the political roadmap, and she looks forward to continued engagement with trade unions and industry representatives.
