Tripoli, June 28, 2025 (LANA) - The Public Prosecution ordered the detention of a member of a gang whose members deliberately brought hashish into the country for the purpose of trafficking.

The Public Prosecutor's Office stated on its official Facebook page that the gang smuggled a quantity of the drug hidden in merchandise imported from Morocco, passing through Carthage Airport in Tunisia, and then reaching Libyan territory.

The office indicated that the investigator was able to determine the destination of the quantity being tracked, identify the person who planned the drug smuggling, and identify a group of people who participated in the incident. The Public Prosecutor ordered the suspect's pretrial detention pending investigation. He also ordered the arrest of the remaining contributors.
