The Arab Parliament concludes its standing committee meetings in Cairo, with the participation of a delegation from the House of Representatives.

Cairo, June 28, 2025 (LANA) – The meetings of the four permanent committees of the Arab Parliament concluded in Cairo on Thursday. This comes as part of preparations for the fifth closing session of the first session of the fourth legislative term, scheduled for Saturday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.

A delegation from the House of Representatives participated in the meetings, including Abdul Salam Nasiya, Ahlam Al-Lafi, Hassan Al-Barghouti, and Abu Salah Shalabi, as members of the Arab Parliament.

The Foreign Affairs, Political Affairs, and National Security Committee discussed a report on the latest political and security developments in the Arab world, in addition to a memorandum on preparing a parliamentary vision to activate the role of preventive diplomacy in preventing conflicts and defusing crises. A report on the committee's activities during the current session was also presented.

For its part, the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women, and Youth Affairs Committee, chaired by Dr. Ahlam Al-Lafi, discussed the subcommittee's report on social entrepreneurship in the Arab world and the vision for developing e-learning. It also reviewed developments in arranging a workshop on providing care and protection in conflict zones, as well as preparations for a symposium on the protection of antiquities in Arab countries.

The Economic Affairs Committee also discussed ways to strengthen relations with economic organizations and institutions and discussed a memorandum on preparing an Arab strategy to support Arab countries in the "blue economy" sector.

The Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Affairs Committee reviewed the final draft of the draft law on combating illegal immigration in the Arab world, along with the first draft of an Arab parliamentary vision for consumer protection in the context of globalization.
