Tripoli, June 25, 2025 (LANA) – The Media Office of the Government of National Unity stated that Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbaiba discussed on Wednesday with the Chairman of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takela, ongoing coordination between state institutions to monitor ongoing political developments in the country.
The office explained, that the meeting discussed several national issues, most notably developments in the political process and ways to unify positions on the constitutional and electoral process. The meeting also emphasized the importance of supporting the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to contribute to enhancing stability and ensuring the success of the political process under UN auspices. It also emphasized the negative impacts on citizens resulting from uncontrolled parallel spending, which is covered by imposing additional financial fees and raising the dollar exchange rate. This ultimately leads to a worsening and disastrous economic burden on Libyan citizens and threatens the financial and living stability of large segments of society.
According to the office, at the end of the meeting, both sides emphasized the need to coordinate national positions and unify political discourse toward international actors, emphasizing that any solutions must be based on internal consensus that respects Libyan sovereignty and meets the people's aspirations for elections and stability.
