Tripoli, June 25, 2025 (LANA) – Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, discussed on Wednesday with the Japanese Ambassador to Libya, Shimura Izuru, the latest developments related to the electoral process in Libya and ways to support efforts aimed at completing the current municipal elections.

The Japanese Ambassador, expressed his appreciation for the significant efforts made by the HNEC in organizing the municipal elections, which he considers an important step towards enhancing democratic participation at the local community level. He affirmed his government's commitment to supporting the electoral process in Libya.

The HNEC, indicated that this meeting comes within the framework of the Commission's efforts to enhance cooperation with international partners to achieve transparent and inclusive elections that strengthen the democratic process in Libya.
