Dabaiba stresses the importance of enhancing the capital's urban landscape and its rich history.

Tripoli, June 23, 2025 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, affirmed that the "Ammar Tripoli" program is one of the government's strategic projects, aiming to create an integrated urban environment that meets the aspirations of the capital's residents.

This came during his chairing of an expanded meeting on Monday, dedicated to following up on the implementation of the "Ammar Tripoli" program projects, launched by the Government of National Unity with the aim of improving infrastructure and enhancing the aesthetic and urban character of Tripoli.

According to the government's media office, Dabaiba called for adherence to the highest technical specifications and approved standards, and for utilizing national competencies to ensure the quality and sustainability of work.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to overcome obstacles and accelerate the pace of work according to the approved timetables, emphasizing the importance of daily field monitoring to achieve the set goals.

During the meeting, Dabaiba reviewed progress reports and completion rates in the various sites targeted by the program, as well as the technical and administrative challenges facing the implementation teams.

The meeting addressed several key projects, most notably the maintenance and renovation of the facades of 44 buildings along Istiqlal Street, the maintenance of six buildings in the downtown area, the development of Sweihli Square, and the maintenance and restoration of the Red Castle, one of the capital's most important historical landmarks.

Efforts to develop the Old City, the construction of five multi-story parking garages, and the development of the vital Shatt Road were also reviewed.

The meeting also discussed plans to develop public spaces and main squares, including rehabilitating and removing damaged sidewalks, improving public lighting to highlight historical landmarks, and unifying the colors of building facades in line with the capital's visual identity. This will contribute to creating a harmonious urban character that reflects Tripoli's beauty and history.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Strategic Projects, the Mayor of Central Tripoli, the Director of the Municipality's Projects Department, the Head of the Tripoli Development Authority, and the Head of the Old City Administration Authority.
