Derna, June 23, 2023 (LANA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, accompanied by the Second Deputy Speaker of the House, Misbah Douma, and a number of representatives, inaugurated several development projects in the city of Derna following their completion by the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund.
According to House of Representatives spokesman Abdullah Blihaq, the Prime Minister-designate of the House of Representatives, Osama Hamad, the Director-General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, Bilqasim Haftar, the Second Deputy Chairman of the High Council of State, Omar Al-Obeidi, and a number of members of the State Council participated in the inauguration of these projects, in addition to a number of sheikhs, dignitaries, and wise men, as well as a large gathering of the city's residents.
In his speech, the Speaker of the House of Representatives said that these achievements are the fruits of an ambitious development vision implemented and supervised by the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, with the participation of Libyan, Arab, and foreign implementing agencies. He expressed his hope that they would soon reach all cities in Libya, east, west, and south.
He explained that this fund is for all Libyans and is not limited to a particular city or village, noting that when the House of Representatives issued the decision to establish this fund, it was not a regional or local decision. He added that the House of Representatives' decision to allocate a budget for the fund for the next three years was not a random or ill-considered decision, but rather the goal and purpose was to continue the fund's progress in completing and implementing contracted projects, ongoing projects, and new projects, according to the House of Representatives spokesperson.
