Tripoli, June 22, 2025 (LANA) – Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, approved the draft Unified Social Registry document, submitted by the Minister of Social Affairs and Chair of the High Committee, Wafaa Al-Kilani.
The Minister gave a detailed presentation to the Prime Minister on the project's working mechanisms and basic components, explaining that it relies on a unified database that integrates citizens' social and economic information to accurately and transparently identify those eligible for support.
She explained that the project includes a classification system that sets priorities based on social criteria such as income level, health status, and family size, in addition to including periodic data update mechanisms to ensure the continued accuracy of information.
The Unified Social Registry is a tool targeting relevant segments of citizens and constitutes a fundamental pillar for achieving social development by structuring a social security system that protects the most vulnerable groups and reduces the risks they face.
According to the Prime Minister's media office, the project aims to improve the standard of living for a wide segment of those eligible for financial and in-kind support, thereby enhancing peace and social cohesion through the provision of basic services.
According to the media office, this step is part of the government's efforts to develop the social protection system and promote fairness in the distribution of support and services, ensuring they reach those who deserve them across the country.
