High school exams for the 2024-2025 academic year have begun in all Libyan schools.

Tripoli, June 22, 2025 (LANA) – The first round of exams for the Secondary Education Certificate for the 2024-2025 academic year began today, Sunday, in all public and private schools across Libya, under the supervision of the National Examinations Center.
The center explained, via its official Facebook page, that the number of applicants for the exams this year reached 128,307 students, distributed as follows: 114,554 regular students, 5,256 home-school students, and 8,497 supplementary students. This is within the framework of 134 educational supervisory bodies covering all regions of the country.
Applicants were distributed by major: 103,166 in the science section, 24,592 in the arts section, and 542 applicants from religious education.
The exams will be held in 871 examination committees encompassing approximately 8,554 examination halls and will continue until July 10, according to the schedule approved by the National Examinations Center.
In a statement issued Saturday evening, the Director General of the National Examinations Center, Mr. Ahmed Masoud, confirmed the completion of all technical and logistical preparations for the exams. This includes preparing, reviewing, printing, and preparing the questions, as well as ensuring their transportation and distribution to examination offices across Libya's various education directorates.
The National Examinations Center, through its media office, called on the supervisory and monitoring committees to provide an appropriate environment that ensures students can take their exams with ease and calm. It emphasized the need to adhere to the applicable rules and regulations, demonstrate diligence and diligence, and avoid all forms of cheating.
