The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity participates in the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul.

Istanbul, June 21, 2025 (LANA) – The 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states kicked off in Istanbul this Saturday morning. This year's session is being held under the theme "The Organization of Islamic Cooperation in a Changing World," with the participation of an official Libyan delegation.
The Libyan delegation participating in this session was headed by Mr. Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity. He was accompanied by the Director of the Department of Islamic Affairs, the Permanent Representative of the State of Libya to the OIC, and the Libyan Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey.
The current session will discuss several priority issues on the Islamic and international scene, most notably the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the military escalation against the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to issues related to the structural reform of the organization and the election of a new presidency for the Council of Foreign Ministers.
This Libyan participation affirms the country's commitment to supporting joint Islamic efforts, strengthening solidarity among member states, and activating the role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in addressing current challenges and defending the just causes of the Islamic nation, according to a statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity on its official Facebook page.
