The Government of National Unity welcomes the statement of the Berlin meeting, and appreciates the understanding of the participating countries and their response to its vision.

Tripoli, June 21, 2025 (LANA) - The Government of National Unity welcomed the final statement issued by the co-chairs of the meeting, which, according to its statement, emphasized respect for Libyan sovereignty, continued support for the efforts of the United Nations, and the need to refrain from any actions that would deepen division.

A government statement indicated that its delegation participating in the meeting of the International Follow-up Committee on Libya reiterated the government's view that the solution lies in proceeding directly to free and fair elections, held on the basis of an agreed-upon constitutional framework. This is the only way to end the political crisis and achieve sustainable stability, far from any initiatives that would breed division and prolong the transitional phases.

The government stressed its commitment to imposing the authority of the state through regular police and military institutions and ending the presence of any outlawed groups, considering this a prerequisite for establishing security and stability and protecting the political and constitutional path in the country.

According to the statement, the government appreciated the understanding and responsiveness of the participating countries to its vision, and its commitment to supporting a Libyan-led process leading to elected institutions that reflect the popular will and end fragmentation. It reiterated its full commitment to working with international partners to ensure the success of the political process and to supporting the efforts of the United Nations to serve the aspirations of the Libyan people for peace and development.
