Berlin, June 20, 2025 (LANA) – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya, Hannah Tetteh, said that the Libyan people's demands for unifying institutions, renewing their legitimacy, and achieving peace, stability, and prosperity are indisputable.

In a statement following the conclusion of the Berlin meeting on Friday, she said that this meeting in Berlin represents a crucial step towards mobilizing the international support needed to achieve these legitimate aspirations.

Tetteh expressed her gratitude to Germany for hosting this important meeting today and thanked all members of the International Follow-up Committee on Libya for meeting in Berlin since their last meeting in 2021. She emphasized that the collective commitment to Libya's future is not only appreciated, but also essential.

Tetteh concluded her statement by saying, "Our top priority remains clear: we must mobilize the international community to support a Libyan-led and Libyan-owned political process, facilitated by the United Nations."
