Tripoli, June 20, 2025 (LANA) – The European Union reiterated its support for a comprehensive roadmap leading to the restoration of legitimacy in Libya, including the organization of free and fair national elections.

This came in a tweet posted by the European Union's envoy to Libya, Nicola Orlando, upon his arrival in the German capital, Berlin, to participate in the meeting of the International Follow-up Committee of the Berlin Process on Libya, hosted by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) in cooperation with the German government.

Orlando described the meeting as a "key opportunity to mobilize international support" for the efforts of the UN envoy to Libya, Hanna Tetteh, to revive a comprehensive Libyan-led political process that responds to the aspirations of the Libyan people for national unity, stability, and shared prosperity.
